Theconglomerate.orghttp://www.theconglomerate.org [Theconglomerate.org] Conglomerate Blog: Business, Law, Economics & Society: I sense a growing opinion in the blogosphere (at least the blawgosphere) that bloggers are not just diary-keepers in pj's but contributors to a national dialogue. Of course, journalists seek to be skeptical of this notion, and I think that suspicion is warranted if bloggers live by different rules, including the rule that any post can be deleted if the poster has a change of heart.

http://ace-o-spades.blogspot.com [Ace-o-spades.blogspot.com] Ace of Spades HQ: A while ago, way before Instapundit had heard anything about it, our blog-buddy Boston Irish noted that in Massachusetts, one is allowed to select a higher tax rate for state taxes if one's conscience compels one to do so.

http://blog.mises.org [Blog.mises.org] Mises Economics Blog: The State and the Flood: While the libertarian leadership has so far declined to speak with one voice in this regard, I believe it's only a matter of time before the Mises Institute, the Independent Institute, the Future of Freedom Foundation, etc., unite in an all-out attack, not only on the most criminal presidency since Lincoln's but on a welfare-warfare state that, to quote one of its foremost representatives, is in its "last throes," the latest in that long line of empires to fall victim to overindulgence at home and overextension abroad.

Mikhaela.net[Mikhaela.net] Mikhaela's News Blog: Also, I forgot to mention Scott Bateman has been in town lately, and he was nice enough to invite me to have tea with him during my lunch break from the Wall Street Journal, so we went to the Starbucks by Ground Zero (I work in the building next to the WTC site, sigh...) You can read all about it (and see a cute little kitten) in Scott's blog, but the main thing I have to say is that the man has the coolest sketchbook I've ever seen, and I'm totally jealous. If you ever meet him in person, you MUST ask to see the sketchbook--what he has on his website is just a tiny sample.

[Badanalysis.com] catallaxy » 2005 » December: Most advocates of economic growth are content with its self-evident results: it makes us wealthier. But at least since the late 18th century there have been thinkers who emphasised its broader social, moral and political benefits.
