[Tom Collins' World Wide Web Log] Bush to History: Dont Misunderestimate Me: Tom: It was big of him to admit that flying over New Orleans in Air Force One and viewing with alarm probably wasnt the best course of action. But his excuse that he didnt land because his physical presence would have pulled police resources away from disaster relief sounded particularly cowardly. I mean really, how many police did he think it would take to keep him safe from the citizens of New Orleans? Does he have a guilty conscience or something? And what about when he told reporters this: “People said, well, the federal response was slow. Don’t tell me the federal response was slow when there was 30,000 people pulled off roofs right after the storm passed. I remember going to see those helicopter drivers, Coast Guard drivers, to thank them for their courageous efforts to rescue people off roofs. Thirty thousand people were pulled off roofs right after the storm moved through. It’s a pretty quick response.” There he is, hiding behind the courage and fortitude of rescue workers, acting as if their valor excuses his administrations gross incompetence. Seriously, if it is possible for a President of the United States to go any lower than that, I don’t want to watch because I’m pretty sure I’d get whale spraints on my deep-sea diving shoes. And his characterization of massive misjudgments, like his complete failure to locate weapons of mass destruction in Iraq after using them as the primary reason to invade in the first place, and that horrible debacle at Abu Ghraib as “disappointments…”

[*SUSAN LOONE's Blog*] Petrol joke of the year « *SUSAN LOONEs Blog*: The humiliation imposed by the victors in the Great War, coupled with the hardship of the economic Depression, created bitterness and anger. [The Strange Death of Liberal America] » The Stimulus Package Big Picture: The small Ford Trimotor, bucked against the headwinds that blew stiffly against it, causing some of the passengers on their first flight to wonder if they had made the right decision about journeying halfway across the country only five years after Lindbergh had crossed the Atlantic and less than a decade after Lucky Lindy parachuted from his mail plane in the dark only to watch in horror as the dying aircraft went into a death spiral that came uncomfortably close to his chute’s canopy. The man who rented the Trimotor insisted on changing the passenger list when he learned that the original plans called for thirteen to board the plane.

[Cafferty File] Cafferty File: Tell Jack how you really feel Blog Archive - How ...: Actually the President is being paid 400K per year to make sure the US economy does not fall in depression…what is and what is not pork spending depends on which political party is making the determination; some pet projects are absolutely necessary and some aren’t, simple as that…suffice it to say that irrespective of pet projects, there are many ways to cut federal spending…for example there are scores of federal agencies and departments that should be eliminated entirely, in some federal establishments budgets could be cut substantially just by downsizing the scope and control of the bureaucracy…in any event the cost of living in a surveillance society could not be more prohibitive…the fact that slashing federal budgets will result in a less intrusive govt is a welcome consequence since the American people will for all intents and purposes end up becoming more free…
[The Housing Bubble Blog] The Housing Bubble Blog » Bits Bucket For March 30, 2009: Exeter and I have gone back and forth on this, but I will tell you that so far, it is not nearly as bad in those 3 places I know best, than in many other areas, and not even close to the carnage in CA, FL, NV or AZ.
