[RealClearPolitics - Articles] I think it was idiotic to do the stimulus and not focus on the economy and to propose cap-and-trade and health care, which I think are having a non-trivial effect in deterring businesses, especially smaller businesses beginning to hire up again.

[Applesauce] Applesauce » Obama insists on a U.S. exit strategy in Afghanistan: If you saw the pictures of those naked prisoners being blindfolded, attacked with dogs and put into grotesque sexual positions and you WEREN’T ashamed there is something wrong with you. It goes against the very basic fiber of what it means to BE human and everything I believe America stands for.
[Truthdig: Drilling Beneath the Headlines] Truthdig - Reports - Gorbachev's Sermon on the Mount: And so if “When Gorbachev came to power he, like Obama, inherited a war that was not in the interest of his nation [and] If the response of a Soviet dictator was to end it, might we not be justified in expecting the enlightened president of a democratic society to do the same?” The question then would appear to be, can the world continue to wait for an “enlightened president”
[The Iowa Republican] Taking the Scalpel to Health Care: A report issued Monday by the Department of Health and Human Services argues that patients in some states are having trouble finding certain types of specialty care, particularly in rural areas where obstetricians and neurosurgeons have quit doing high-risk procedures because they say they can’t afford the malpractice insurance. But there is little statistical evidence that more than a tiny percentage of doctors nationwide are making such decisions, and the report ignores several independent studies that contradict some of its key findings.
[The Daily Obama] HATER WATCH: CHENEY CALLS OBAMA "AFRAID" | The Daily Obama: Even if president Obama announced today that the troops should immediately desist and retreat for their return home, it’s not likely that their families will see them on U.S. ground by 7 November. If he were to send more troops to the country, their greatest opposition to accomplishing their mission might be Afghanistan’s president.
[POLITICO Top Stories] Michael Calderone's Blog: Fournier inflames the Netroots (UPDATE ...: America hasn't caught up (because the Right has been defining the message using hysterical tactics to distract and deter the electorate from maturing) with how the world has changed in the last 50 years. (there are cultural cues for this: The Truman Movie, The Usual Suspects, Manchurian Candidate Remake, Good Night and Good Luck, etc.) I've been hoping for Biden and thinking he wouldn't be the choice because of his history as fighter within the Congress.
[VolNation] Hate crimes bill goes to Obama for signature - VolNation: "The passage of this legislation will give the Justice Department and our state and local law enforcement partners the tools we need to deter and prosecute these acts of violence," he said in a statement. Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, called the measure "our nation's first major piece of civil .

[Central Michigan Life] The government in infringing upon citizens' rights | Central ...: Let me get this straight, a governmental agency used to protect consumers from tainted products wants to ban misleading information and endorsements from the FDA on tobacco products? But wait, you say in your articles “that the bill OBAMA signed doesnt contain that exact language anymore.”
[Barely A Blog] Barely A Blog » What ObamaCare Will Mean for You” and What You Can ...: As a portent of things to come, passage of the bill would inspire further iron-fisted attempts to demonstrate the will of the government. As unappealing as correspondence with idiot shirkers is (is it wrong to use the cognomen in my correspondence if its objectively true?), Ill let them know how I feel”¦ without expletives”¦ I hope.
[Big Government] Big Government » Blog Archive » Tricks, Treats, and Boondoggles: If Obama signs this and hands over sovereignty to the UN, isn't it considered treason since according to "Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) treason is defined as: "…[a]…citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]."
[CNN Political Ticker] CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive ...: That his argument against Obama as being 'green' and inexperienced was self destructed by his choice of Palin, who had to be reminded that Gordon Brown was PM of Great Britain??? Every drop of info from that time about her being void of any policies and knowledge even the Exxon-Valdez SCOTUS case concerning her own state is another shot at McCain's desperation for a game changer and putting his ambition before country.

[Connect the World] Connect the World: Blog Archive - Should the U.S. finally end Cuba ...: The embargo was a political gesture to signal to the world that the US was against a dictatorial government ruled by ruthless madman who was not elected to power 90 miles away from its coast. No other country has had this stance, not even democratic Latin American governments who for decades looked the other way as the Castro regime repressed the Cuban people to submission with a considerable degree of success.
[Lean Left] Lean Left » Blog Archive » Obama: Nobel Laureate, and Hope of the ...: It’s certainly a startling choice for the Peace Prize, and again a choice not justified by overt, tangible accomplishments on Obama’s part. But the award committee has clearly made the decision that the most important move toward peace in these times is simply to start the ball rolling in the right direction again, and that the value of having a decent and right-minded person at the wheel of the American juggernaut matters more to that process now than the more tangible accomplishments that have been made by people with less weight to throw around.

[Hot Air » Top Picks] Hot Air » Blog Archive » Obama to slash nukes: Guardian: None of this comes out of the blue. Obama has always echoed strains of the no-nukes crowd in which he marinated in the Ivy League during the 1980s. His antipathy towards missile defense systems during the campaign hinted at this kind of movement in nuclear-weapons policy. The Left has often remarked on the supposed hypocrisy of demanding denuclearization of North Korea and prevention of nuclearization of Iran while we keep our own nukes and presumably give tacit agreement to others, especially India and Israel.
