Political Animalhttp://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2008_06/013958.php [Political Animal] Islamic terrorism has been a problem for the U.S., potentially, for decades but has resulted in direct attacks only twice in the last 15 years.The threat of further direct or indirect attacks on America remains the major foreign policy issue as long as we give unconditional support to Israel, which McCain is more likely than Obama to continue, and as long as we are tethered to oil and, most important, offer material support to the House of Saud, probably the most hated regime in the ME.

furiousBlog[furiousBlog] Tweeting for Votes -- UPDATED: While, the fact is that Obama will probably win due to Republican's current unpopularity (unless he royally screws something up, of course) this difference in attitude or strategy sure won't help McCain. It really shows him to be the same old politician that we all know and hate.

Strang Report[Strang Report] It's going to be a long election season: One of the aspects of a meeting Obama recently had with Christian leaders that is not generally reported is that one of the leaders, who voiced support of Sen. Obama, gave a little lecture at the end of the meeting on all the things about John McCain that should keep Christians from supporting him--such as the fact McCain was known to swear publicly and had a rather public divorce (as well as a few other things I won’t repeat here since they weren't nice, and I’ve not had a chance to research if they are true).

hispanictips[hispanictips] Blogante News for Monday - June 23rd, 2008: An immigration end run around the next president - With neither Obama nor McCain sharing their stance on the issue, advocates of stricter policies are working at the city, state and congressional levels to change the political landscape .

McCain voted to uphold President Bush’s veto.

Oratorical Animal[Oratorical Animal] John McCain and Karl Rove: If Obama is perceived as the candidate of hope and change running against a man who has served in Congress for a quarter century, then identify Obama as a slick, opportunistic politician running against a principled veteran who stands his ground. Obama has recently helped this narrative along with his dismissal of public financing for his campaign, his acceptance of FISA, his too-nuanced words on trade, and his problematic relationship with the mainstream media.

Virescenthttp://virescent.wordpress.com/2008/06/24/candidates-and-fuel/ [Virescent] Candidates and Fuel: Recently, both candidates have said and done and been observed doing plenty of things that illuminate their positions on energy, the environment, the economy.  Mostly they say it’s about the economy and energy.  They’re not talking so much about the environment- except, on McCain’s end, slightly ironically, from what I can tell-  but they are revealing themselves.

Scraggedhttp://www.scragged.com/articles/john-mccains-death-wish.aspx [Scragged] John McCain's Death Wish: As luck would have it, McCain has been presented, on a gilded platter, with not one, not two, but three sturdy, heavy, knouted cudgels made to order for defenestrating Barack Obama. These are issues with which the overwhelming majority of American voters are totally opposed to the Democratic stance;

Recent Comments on Mises Economics Bloghttp://blog.mises.org/archives/008214.asp#363989 [Recent Comments on Mises Economics Blog] TIME for Socialism?: After all, as Senator Obama is fond of pointing out, John McCain implies (both in his speeches and in his VOTES) implies that most government spending is pork - rather than the bedrock of "social justice" that all decent human beings (including "compassionate conservative" George Walker Bush) know it to be.

Dilbert.com Bloghttp://www.dilbert.com/blog/entry/62 [Dilbert.com Blog] Economics of the War: That depends if you think terrorists could hate the United States less as long as the US supports Israel, which both Obama and McCain do. And of course the US will probably never leave Afghanistan.

Blog of the Moderate Left[Blog of the Moderate Left] Why Does John McCain Hate America?: When Michelle Obama said she was proud of her country for the first time in her adult life, she was being hyperbolic — but not by much, and not unjustifiably.
