EconWatch.com > Obama has advantage on economy

Politico.com: Ideashttp://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/14079.html [Politico.com: Ideas] Why are the MSM and the Democrats so concerned that Sarah Palin is just a heartbeat away from becoming the President and lacks the experience in foreign policy if they are so positive their precious Obama is going to win ? I suppose the person who is a heartbeat away from becoming the President and lacks foreign policy experience is their biggest threat and the one person who swiped the carpet from under Obama's feet.

Vadimus Post[Vadimus Post] Will The Presidential Election Matter Much to Online Poker?: His ”˜payback’ has been to caucus with the Democrats - thus keeping chairmanship of the powerful Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs - while being a thorn in their side, accompanying John McCain everywhere, most notably correcting the candidate’s serious gaffe in the Middle East, and most recently questioning Barack Obama’s patriotism.

Soft Spothttp://icedsoftspot.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/in-preparation-for-thursday-more-on-palin/ [Soft Spot] In preparation for Thursday, more on Palin: We are engaged in shooting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, our economy is teetering on the verge of collapse, and the top of the Republican ticket is 72 years old and a cancer survivor. So won’t Americans care more this time about whether Sarah Palin is really qualified to be president should she need to be?

Musingshttp://jonathansthoughts.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/weekend-update/ [Musings] Weekend Update: I reminded him of the Obama ticket’s complete lack of any executive experience, Joe Biden’s gaffe regarding who was President in 1929 when the stock market crashed, Obama’s “friends” (William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Franklin Raines, and Tony Rezko), and the fact that he voted “present”

Pat Dollard | Young Americanshttp://patdollard.com/2008/09/nancy-pelosis-political-caliphate-on-america/ [Pat Dollard | Young Americans] Nancy Pelosi’s Political Caliphate On America: Ignoring the fact that House Republicans didn’t so much boycott earlier meetings as that they were EXCLUDED from earlier meetings on the bailout, Nancy Pelosi had the gall a little while ago to go before cameras and say that they boycotted meetings in the week and that their non-participation made them, yes, quote “unpatriotic.” If Boehner had said that about Pelosi, every establishment media outlet in the country would be having conniption fits for about a week and said that it blew up the negotiations and showed that Boehner and Republicans are McCarthyite, etc.

A Bermudian's Viewhttp://bermudian.wordpress.com/2008/09/27/catching-up/ [A Bermudian's View] Catching Up: Obama should have used similar, calm references to examples of McCain’s instability and gambling nature as evidenced in the way he has been running his campaign and particularly his behaviour and flip flops on the current economic situation. Lately, McCain has been very unsteady and seemingly wreckless in his approach and Obama should be capitalising on this.

And aides said no commercials were ready to be immediately released, which the McCain campaign did when Mr.

WORLD DIGESThttp://worlddigest.wordpress.com/2008/09/26/the-palin-non-factor/ [WORLD DIGEST] The Palin Non-Factor: But no one seems disposed to contemplate her heroic lack of qualifications to sit a heartbeat away from the Oval Office. Second, it is McCain whom the Democrats should attack. He would be president, not the Alaskan. ...

Escape the Okie Zone[Escape the Okie Zone] Newsbasturds angry over making fun of Ms. Piggy with lipstick!: We're saying, hey, why bail out Fannie and Freddie and not me? But ultimately what the bailout does is help those that are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy to help, um, -- it's got to be all about job creation to, also to shoring up our economy and putting Fannie and Freddie back on the right track and so health care reform and reducing taxes and reigning in spending 'cause Barack Obama, you know.

Nevada Thunderhttp://nevadathunder.com/?p=5752 [Nevada Thunder] Why isn’t Obama crushing McCain?: Ginsberg: I think they’re not unhappy with having drawn Barack Obama in the finals, but I don’t really agree with the notion that there was anything approaching a unified Republican view about licking their chops on Hillary Clinton. I think there were some entrepreneurial consultants, a bit out of the mainstream, who thought they would be able to raise a ton of dough for negative ads against Clinton, but I don’t think there was at all a consensus amongst the Republican campaigns that Clinton was a better candidate to run against than Obama.

The Practically Shameless blog[The Practically Shameless blog] A quick guide to shadows on display in John McCain: The Apathetic -- The lack of motivation that says "I don't care." The Apathetic in John McCain is the part of him that owns eight houses and a fleet of vehicles and wants to give $300 billion in tax cuts to the wealthy.

AMY FRANCIS - KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER[AMY FRANCIS - KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER] Presidential Debate 2008: They put the Fun in Fundamental:  Or quite a walk as I don’t think we’ll be able to afford to drive anywhere for a while, but the good news is, many of those SUVs that people bought and bought and bought because of the tax loop hole that GWB REFUSED to close, that made it so ATTRACTIVE to buy the BIGGEST most FUEL INEFFICIENT vehicles in HISTORY intended for daily personal transportation are large enough so that the people who get foreclosed on who were “lucky” enough to be paying through the nose for their tax advantage will have a place to live.

Blogometerhttp://blogometer.nationaljournal.com/archives/2008/09/925_mccain_call.html [Blogometer] 9/25: McCain Calls Time-Out: Both McCain and Obama are almost certain, at this point, to end up supporting whatever bailout compromise is hashed out in Congress, which means that we'll be able to add the current economic crisis to the list of issues where the two candidates have managed to avoid anything like a sustained argument about policy. It's the Russo-Georgian War all over again: McCain responds boldly/impulsively, Obama responds carefully/overcautiously, but they both end up saying roughly the same thing, and the pundit class goes back to obsessing about whatever shocking poll or web ad has been released that day."

Nmorton's Webloghttp://nmorton.wordpress.com/2008/09/12/obama-doesnt-compare-to-palin-on-experience/ [Nmorton's Weblog] Obama doesn’t compare to Palin on experience: Ever since Governor Sarah Palin was selected to be John McCain’s running mate the media, Senator Obama’s campaign and especially liberal bloggers have been doing everything they can to try and discredit her. One of the main ways that they have decided to go about this is to rightfully mention that she is “one heart beat away from the presidency”

talklefthttp://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/9/22/115221/291 [talkleft] McCain Chicago Attack Ad to Air Nationally: When you factor in McCain, the RNC and the 527's the right wing can go pretty toe to toe with Obama in ads if they want.  Remember Obama has a much larger staff and operation costs for offices, payroll and travel expenses which really eat into his fund raising which is why he has to fund raise so hard right now to make sure he has the funds to compete since the DNC is doing a poor job of fund raising right now.

Stumperhttp://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/09/15/the-filter-sept-15-2008.aspx [Stumper] The Filter: Sept. 15, 2008: Indeed, hypocrisy was the strange charge Democrats decided to make against McCain and Palin: Having run against Obama all summer for his lack of experience and accomplishment, how dare John McCain pick as his running mate someone with (ahem) experience comparable to that of the Democratic candidate for president McCain had been criticizing? Well, maybe because it is not a sign of the strength of a candidate at the top of a ticket to need the experience of Joe Biden (or Dick Cheney) in order to allay concerns that he's not quite up to some aspects of the job.

THE LIBERAL PERSPECTIVE/Joe Sheridan's Radio Weblog[THE LIBERAL PERSPECTIVE/Joe Sheridan's Radio Weblog] McCAIN’S PERPETUAL DISDAIN FOR OBAMA’S JUDGMENT REQUIRES A CLOSER ...: We are veterans who like John McCain, who served honorably, but and we continue to serve our country honorably by not using our military experiences as unjustifiable necessary shields or stepping stones. John McCain has faced and will continue to face many difficult questions that he does not have an answer for, and problems to which that he will provide no solutions to, in the 70 days between now and the election.
