Attytood[Attytood] Obama and Clintion: (1) forced banks to bundle mortgages, (2) forced investors to buy the bundles, (3) caused the low interest rates that made those investments attractive, (4) caused the low interest rates that gave many bad credit risks access to complicated debt obligations (5) caused the housing market to be overheated, (6) caused the ARMs to kick in and cause increasing numbers of foreclosures, and the subsequent cooling of the housing market (7) as a consequence of #6, caused the investors to start taking huge hits on the bundled debt obligations they invested in, (8) caused a subsequent credit crunch, (9) caused the subsequent slow down in economic growth, (10) caused the feds to lower interest rates to stimulate the economy, (11) caused inflation rates to increase as a result of lowered interest rates, a devalued dollar, and inflationary pressures caused by the devaluation of the dollar and inflationary pressures on energy resulting from the ethanol craze that was created by Republican ethanol-friendly policies and a lack of attention to other energy resources, etc., etc.,

David Corn[David Corn] After the Cleveland Debate, Not Even Clinton's Spinners Could ...: The Austin debate was no win for Clinton and, as subsequent polls showed, she did not retake the reins, shout giddyup, and ride the presidential race off into a victorious sunset. In fact, Obama, following that debate, continued to gain strength in the polls in the all-important states of Ohio and Texas.

The Field[The Field] SurveyUSA: Obama 49, Clinton 45 in Texas: The Field tends to believe that Clinton is up by five points - as the poll says - among early voters: that’s the Cisneros machine in Central Texas and other machines in South Texas doing the job they exist to do. But it’s so close - that’s what’s unexpected: Clinton should be racking up significant margins among early voters but apparently isn’t - that the early voting push by the Obama campaign is mostly offsetting it, mainly from the Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth regions.

Obama for Presidenthttp://community.livejournal.com/obama_2008/408603.html [Obama for President] "Why Hillary Clinton’s Iraq Vote Does Matter": Senator Clinton also naively accepted the idea that the Bush administration - which was serving as the primary foreign backer of the autocratic Mubarak government in Egypt, Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, Moroccan occupation forces in Western Sahara, the family dictatorship in Saudi Arabia, the medieval sultanate of Oman, the military regime of Pakistan, and the crypto-communist rulers of Uzbekistan - was sincerely motivated to promote democracy in Iraq. She also failed to recognize that a unilateral invasion and occupation by a Western power with such a record of supporting repressive regimes around the world and with a growing dependence on imported natural resources located within the country in question would be seen by the subjected population not as liberators to be welcomed but as conquerors to be resisted.

Campbell: “Some critics have said our duties in Iraq must be internationalized. This particular criticism is hard to explain to our partners in Britain, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, the Netherlands, Norway, El Salvador, and the 17 other countries that have committed troops to Iraq.”

[Sapintel Blog] Is Obama Good for Business?: After all, Obama is hardly a shoo-in for the C-suite set: He's got a scant three-year record on the national stage, and he wants to roll back the Bush tax cuts that benefit many of the people running big American companies. Plus, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gives him the lowest rating of any of the three major contenders for the Presidency, behind Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.).

As her parents did not want to send her to any of the British schools in India, Indira Gandhi’s education took place at a series of Indian schools and at non-British schools in Europe, with a number of private tutorials interspersed between periods at school.
