[Econbrowser] The Allied Social Sciences Association (incorporating the AEA, the Econometric Society, the International Economics and Finance Society and many other groups) meetings took place in Chicago this last weekend. I wasn't able to go to that many sessions, but I did attend a few related to international issues.

[Gregmankiw.blogspot.com] Greg Mankiw's Blog: Austrian Economics: As a (I hope) future mathematician deciding whether to take basic econ, doesn't the fact that the Nobel prize was awared both to Gunnar Myrdal and von Hayek mean that your field is totally without rigour and for that matter totally without shame. It seems to me this travesty is like awarding a Fields medal to two people one of who has both claimed to prove and the other to disprove the same conjecture.
