[FiveThirtyEight: Politics Done Right] Because Barone is so good and so right (wing), many attack his analysis largely because they cannot understand it, but the opposition to Obama and the Dems and big government comes right out of the Scots-Irish immigrant roots of these people and the genetic grit and self-determination that still informs their DNA and their sensibilities. Believe it or not, but there are many, many people who don’t see the government forcing them to buy even subsidized healthcare as a government benefit but a huge intrusion in their lives.
