[The Big Picture] That’s why Newmark get’s the bucks, because he’s willing to service his clients needs 24/7/365, parked car or park bush, he’s shaking what he’s got….and he wants us to be more like him…he’d feel much better about himself if we wanted to be like him…and oh yeah, he wants us to stop laughing at him when he’s servicing his clients.

[Congress Blog] The Big Question: Will the deficit or jobs be more important in ...: Yet as people think about the overall health of the economy, they will consider if current spending and deficit trends are sustainable. And it is clearly not, or at least not without serious repercussions. In the short term, many may be willing to trade more debt today if it bought us job creation and economic growth, but after the first so-called "stimulus" bill and the current debate about spending another trillion dollars on health care, few believe that this Congress is using deficit spending to create jobs. Far from it, much of what has been and is being proposed are giveaways to interest groups and expand government's reach as an end in itself.
[WSJ.com: Deal Journal] Mean Street: Bruce Wasserstein and the Meaning of Life - Deal ...: Wasserstein’s shortened life, and the level of his health during his life were probably mostly influenced by his own genetic makeup. If he had only been an obscure middle class office worker, his life is likely to have still taken the same course from the health perspective.
[Worldcarfans: American] Chevrolet Police Car Returns for More Action: Oh for god's sake, will you hippies stop whinging about the fuel consumption and size of the dam thing and just accept the fact that this car is 1000% better than the front-wheel driven crap-piles that the Japanese and South Koreans keep shoving down our throats. The fact of the matter is, is that the HOLDEN Caprice ( as it is named down here in Australia, where it's made ) is far more advanced than the out-going Ford Crown Victoria in terms of driveability, reliability, safety, efficiency of both fuel and space for its occupants.
[TechFlash] Would you pay to Twitter?: of craigslist.org, the free 'n simple online classifieds system that, if you believe the critics (I don't), single-handedly brought down the entire multi-billion dollar newspaper industry. So when Craig Newmark says something, you figure it's probably important, even if it is about parrots.
[WorldCarFans: American] Camaro Convertible, Z28 on hold indefinitely: I think GM should analyze how many Mustangs have been sold, how many GT500s and what % of the market has already been converted to the Pony and see what's left over, and then take the economic crisis into account over that, and they will see the #s are not that good. They already have 14000 units ordered, but how many more will come after that?
[News: Trader's Narrative] Matt Taibbi - Taibblog - 'It's time to enshrine Hank Paulson as ...: Slightly off topic, regarding the Progressive Insurance chick: A close, perhaps obsessive, reading of the stimulus package, and more specifically, the Kent Conrad sponsored farm-subsidy addenda, reveals a potential loophole within an obscure codicil, one that SEEMS to permit the construction of some sort of internment camp near Minot where she, and her kind (Paulson too?) could be confined for a “not to be unspecified” period of time, for *their own* safety. Im not sure how realistic this is nor how it pertains to any so-called “farm subsidy” (perhaps, Conrads staff would be able to elaborate), but its in the bill and its something to consider.
[The Confluence] Happy days are here again!(?) But what about us? « The Confluence: However, Newmark fails to consider our basic inability as consumers of 401Ks and other retirement vehicles to effect change from within that system. He also discounts the millions of Americans who have no 401K savings or like investments.
[Newmark's Door] Newmark's Door: What would have happened if Katrina had hit while ...: Newmark's humor - a tiresome retelling of well-aired conservative conceits - is actually an exercise which which all Americans can sympathize. In the stark reality of Federal inability to deliver an effective disaster-response, many Americans will face the situation and chortle away their fear - do anything for a little comfort, including some old-time Clinton bashing.
[The Opinionator] Weekend Opinionator: Are Democrats, Too, Facing a Civil War? - The ...: lots of info there, but the bottom line for democrats is that they are the kennedy dem party, whether conservative liberal, or progressive, the democrat leader presently is of course President Obama, however, there are still powers in the dem party that the republicans wish they had someone like them to lead the republicans, in the final analysis, we dems have kerry, dodd, pelosi, reid, clinton, boxer just to name a few, so my ball team with all the dem leaders beats the republicans because the good ones left can’t present anything people can follow, I suppose the well known republicans are hanging back letting the younger ones do all the dirty work, but we dems have more ringers that the republicans for right now anyways. Those politicians that do what’s right on the legislation, instead of trying to get reelected by opposing good programs will be seen for what they are, when the dems and president clinton passed bans on gun ammo and clips and magazines they all lost there seats, but they did what was right, and served the people, we seem to forget that many great republicans who are sitting by and hoping that President Obama fails are so foolish because it is there america too.
[Reason Magazine - Hit & Run] Investors vs. Entrepreneurs - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine: The problem is that in the policy area most relevant to peerproduction--namely copyright law--Congress has repeatedlyintervened to shift the balance toward capital-intensive forms ofcreativity. People on the "pro-capital" side of the divide think weneed stronger and stronger copyright laws to maximize the profitsof capitalists, even if products like Google Book Search andHandbrake have to be squashed in the process.

I didn’t even mention the car payment or the insurance.
