EconWatch.com > Adwatch: Obama Links Iraq and Economy in Hit on McCain
[MyDD] Is this in contrast to McCain on the economy? If so, I'm failing to see the connection, outside of "better schools" being something that Obama is in favor of and something that theoretically polls well.

[TWT Forums] B.Obama The Communist: He also proposed massive taxes on the rich to "redistribute our economic gains to the benefit of all." "Theoretically, there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the .
[One Wing Left] Its News To M_A - 8/10/08: The truth is that the campaigns of both Barack Obama and John McCain are being inundated with cash from more or less exactly the same gorgons of the corporate scene. From Wall Street to the Big Oil powerhouses to the military-industrial complex, America’s fat-cat business leaders know that the Animal House-style party of the last eight years that made almost all of them rich with bonuses, government contracts and bubble profits is about to come to an end, and someone is going to have to pay to clean up the mess.
[BLOGDIAL] Justin Raimondos greatest ever article: The truth about Georgia ...: South Ossetia is not now a part of “sovereign Georgian territory,” and it hasnt been for nearly two decades, no matter what McCain and Obama would have us believe. If they, along with GWB, are going to stand by Saakashvilis side as he .
[BEAUTIFUL, ALSO, ARE THE SOULS OF MY BLACK SISTERS] POST RACE: IS OBAMA THE END OF BLACK POLITICS?: A lot of black incumbents who supported Clinton now find themselves trying to explain how they ended up so disconnected from their constituents, and many are preparing for their strongest primary challenges in years. (In a primary last month, John Lewis, who had run unopposed since 1992, had to beat not one but two primary opponents, including a 31-year-old minister named Markel Hutchins who designed his campaign to look just like Obamas, right down to renting the same office space and using a red, white and blue logo in the shape of an “O.”) So far, incumbents facing insurrection over their endorsements of Clinton have easily dispatched their challengers, leading to a collective exhalation inside the black caucus in Washington.
[Fervidus] Why I am for Obama: McCain has adopted the mantra of “reform” only because the American people had indicated that they want “change.” Even knowing that, McCain only supports reform rather than change. Obama, however, is very likely to strongly pursue fundamental changes: National health care, a multilateral foreign policy, and a greater commitment to economic equality.
[Stormfront White Nationalist Community] More Stuff on Obama/Stealth Socialism: You can see why Obama was ranked, hands-down, the most liberal member of the Senate by the National Journal. Some, including colleague and presidential challenger John McCain, think he's the most liberal member in Congress.
[Start Thinking Right] Obamas “New Stand” On Energy Just Dumb In A Different Way: “Obama said his goal was to have 10 percent of the countrys energy needs met by renewable resources by the end of his first term, more than double the current figure.” But again, can’t you see that he is implicitly affirming that the energy sources he is actively opposing would still amount to supplying 90% of our energy needs even given his own best case scenario?
[Iconoclast's Blog] Barack Obama's Stealth Socialism: A careful reading of Obama's first memoir, "Dreams From My Father," reveals that his childhood mentor up to age 18 ” a man he cryptically refers to as "Frank" ” was none other than the late communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and Congress opened investigations into his "subversive," "un-American activities."
[Kicking the Anthill - Blog] Big Government Adds Friction to Americas Economic Engine: This line of thinking made me wonder what effect eight years of the Bush administration has had on the American economy and how if a Barack Obama or John McCain presidency might either reverse or perpetuate our current economic course. Although certainly not a hard and fast rule, historically the American business cycle has trended towards a pattern of eight years of growth followed by three years of hardship. Our last real recession, which occurred in 1991 (remember, “Its the economy, stupid.”?), was followed by eight years of historic growth. So in the year 2000 I would’ve expected that whichever candidate won the battle for the US presidency in Florida would have been presided over three years of economic downturn. Of course, as with any generalization, unexpected variables will always throw a monkey wrench into the system. The events of September 11, 2001, were just such a monkey wrench. The downturn, which I expected during the first Bush administration, never came and the significant upturn, which I would’ve expected during a second Bush administration, also never came. However, the events of 9/11 did allow the Bush and Cheney administration to begin the largest accumulation of executive power since the Great Depression.

[Gold & Silver Forum] Is Obama the End of Black Politics?: While most of the younger black politicians know one another only from the occasional encounter or phone call, Patrick and Obama shared a cup of coffee, at the suggestion of a mutual friend, in the mid-1990s and developed a close friendship. (The senator even borrowed some of Patrick’s oratory during the primaries, which led the Clinton camp to charge plagiarism.) Patrick was Coca-Cola’s general counsel and the assistant attorney general for civil rights in the Clinton administration before he became, in 2006, only the second black man to be elected governor in American history, following L.
[blog.Tribulationperiod.com] False Peace Time Is Finally Here!: US Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Wednesday while visiting the rocket-stricken town of Sderot. “Today I had a series of productive discussions with many of Israel’s key leaders about how to address the broad range of threats that Israel faces, and the broad threats that all of us face.”
