US: Obama speaks on the Economy

communicating labour rightshttp://communicatinglabourrights.wordpress.com/2008/03/28/us-obama-speaks-on-the-economy/ [communicating labour rights] As Obama rightly points out (and others have long before he has), the Iraq war will cost us at least one trillion dollars–likely two trillion dollars. Democrats should be saying, “we’d be happy to run a deficit if we were putting in place a single-payer health care system.”

Does the Economy Hold a Silver Lining For Yellow Pages?

Kelsey Group Blogshttp://blog.kelseygroup.com/index.php/2008/03/25/does-the-economy-hold-a-silver-lining-for-yellow-pages/ [Kelsey Group Blogs] I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the Easter holiday talking with friends and family about the economy and how they are dealing with the budget crunch we are all experiencing. One of the common threads of all these conversations has been the need to stay close to home, combine shopping trips and calling ahead so you don’t waste time and fuel going to multiple stores.

The Limits of Hope: Getting Real about the American Economy

The Washington Note[The Washington Note] Barack Obama believes in fairer and more progressive individual income taxation, taxation which will see every American once again paying his or her fair share. How can anyone but the wealthiest of Americans be satisfied with an economy which has seen forty percent of all economic growth over the past 20 years go to only the top one percent of American families?

Last Thursday, both Obama and Clinton were on Capitol Hill when Dodd and Frank unveiled their legislation that would expand the government's intervention in the crumbling housing market.

Entrepreneurship and small businesses the small driving forces of ...

Small Business Entrepreneur blog[Small Business Entrepreneur blog] Well, in fact, I don’t really pay attention at this idea (of entrepreneurship as a factor in the economy) - I need to do some thinking to realise that the Turnover that we had last year means that we have created income per capita for the economy. Or the people we hired means we created workplaces.

Local Media Survival Skills in a Down Economy

Kelsey Group Blogshttp://blog.kelseygroup.com/index.php/2008/03/14/local-media-survival-skills-in-a-down-economy/ [Kelsey Group Blogs] online columnist Robert Grede shared some interesting some insights in a recent article on how local advertisers can survive in a down economy and what local media sales reps should be communicating to their advertisers and prospects. While many of these items are not surprising, it is surprising how local media reps can get so focused on the troubling aspects of a down economy rather than being a truly consultative sales person who can maximize the opportunity for local SMBs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and provide real guidance.
